The Mid Sussex Triathalon Club held its annual Awards Dinner on Saturday 5th March at Cafe Elvira in Haywards Heath with husband and wife Barry & Liane Davids making a strong showing in the awards.
The main awards were for:
The Best All Rounder (BAR) which is divided into two categories: Short & Long Distance with separate awards for men & women.

Short BAR (Best All Rounder)
- Balcombe Bull Run, 7km, 20th March
- MSTC Duathlon, Sprint distance 5k/20k/2.5k, 17th April
- MSTC Charity Swim, 1Km Swim, 6th August
- MSTC Triathlon Festival, Olympic Tri, 28th August
- 10m Cycling TT
This was won by Liane Davids in the women's category and her husband Barry Davids in the men's category.
Long BAR
- MSTC Duathlon, Standard distance, 10k/40k/5k, 17th April
- MSTC Charity Swim, 5Km swim, 6th August
- MSTC Triathlon Festival, Middle Distance Tri, 28th August
- Barns Green, 1/2 Marathon, 2nd October
- 50m Cycling TT
This was won by Nicola Cowles in the women's category and Mike Jaffe in the men's category.
Best Athlete

Performance of the Year Award:
Jim Graham for smashing the club Ironman record at IronMan Barcelona in 9h 45m 39s
Spirit of Triathalon Award:
Barry Davids for competing with one able arm as fast as most people can do with two, then taking up club coaching with a passion and enthusiasm that has helped a lot of other club members.
Club Member of the Year Award:
Julie Williams for her continued efforts as our 'open water' co-ordinator. This year has seen great success with the running of our Ardingly reservoir swimming and the introduction of an effective and fair volunteer system to enable it to continue safely.
Special Award:
Mark Jordan who has recently stepped down as our long serving Club Chairman, after a spell in charge that has moved the club to the position we are in today - with a strong committee and a growing membership.
Coaches' Award:
Vicky Von Der Linden for her enthusiasm in swimming and improving her running in recent 10K and half marathon runs.
