Feedback

Feedback from athletes who have taken part in the event.

A thoroughly well-organised event and friendly event, which seemed to attract first-timers and experienced triathletes in equal measure. This was my first ever triathlon and I found it extremely welcoming from the very first step of hearing about, finding online, and entering, through the small amount of simple communications before the event, to the day itself.

The event director and his team put in a visibly enormous amount of effort to make a well-run day that was great fun to be a part of.

Each section was well run, loads of helpful, friendly, and encouraging marshals on hand with a smile and a supportive word. Good signposting around transition and out on the course, and clear instructions. The competitors were a friendly bunch too, I could not have asked for a better or more welcoming and fun introduction to the world of triathlon and I will definitely be back for more."

Chris

Thanks for a memory-making day, what a great experience.  Completed my first ever triathlon in under 2 hours on a rather heavy mountain bike.  The marshalls were all so kind, helpful and encouraging, the atmosphere was fantastic - and I know that doesn't happen by chance but because of careful planning and a team that care.

Training with a group of other newbies was part of the deal here in Angmering, and we are carrying on training together, and will be back for more next year. Think we have already recruited a few extras as the celebratory bbq we held in the evening. They perhaps saw how I was grinning all the way round the course and enjoyed our informal award ceremony at the bbq, and want to join in.

Credit to you to creating a 'beginner friendly' triathlon, I think had it been all very 'serious' then I would have felt silly or anxious and likely wouldn't have repeated it. As it is, you've won a new convert and my hubby is planning on joining in next year.  He is aiming at 1hr15 but I think he hasn't realised how hard it is to run after the bike ride!! Anyway, for your pre-race jollities if he does enter he is a vicar, so you can challenge people to see if they are 'quicker than the vicar' or indeed 'faster than the pastor' ;-)

Thank you too for the aquabike option. As you know my foot healed in time to do the full tri, but was grateful to be able to sign-up then switch, and know it was a real option. Cherry

The thanks are mutual.
Thanks for putting on a very special race with a great atmosphere and a very friendly army of volunteers, none of which seemed to mind being there at the crack of dawn. Highlights of the event for me were the pre race briefing and the prize giving, both were highly entertaining, and free beer at the finish, great! And free photos too, even better. I'm still not sure about the swim though, all that ducking under ropes. I don't know any other events that use that system, and I think I would rather swim up and down the same lane.

I am surprised that you didn't take the opportunity to be included in the Burgess Hill Festival programme which ended on Sunday. I would like to take you up on your offer of a spare medal for my long suffering partner, who got up at silly o'clock to come and cheer me on, and if you can spare two medals I would like one for my friend who also turned up to support me, although he is less deserving than Lynette and didn't get up as early!

Thanks again to everyone who helped to make a great event.

I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for such an amazing event! This was my first Triathlon, encouraged by my friend Helen Graham, I was part of Team Carrot.  The friendliness and support from your team both before and on the day was so encouraging it made it all very special.  I have already recommended it to running friends and I definitely plan on being back next year and improving my time!
Thanks again for all your hard work! Sarah

First time I did the Mid-Sussex Tri and I really enjoyed it - will definitely do it again!
Just to say thank you for your great organisation and a very friendly race indeed. Seeing how the visually impaired folks tackled this race was truly inspiring. David

I absolutely loved it and you and your colleagues were very helpful throughout. It would be nice to see a breakdown of times for T1, bike, and T2 but I guess that means extra staff and extra hassle… but just a thought. Thanks again and I'll be back next year with my girlfriend joining me too!Have a great summer.Tom

Thanks for a great race and huge thanks for letting us at swim 1st tri club go first. We all had a great race and where all buzzing afterwards so thanks for making that possible. See you next year. Damian

I want to thank you and your team for making my first triathlon so amazing, I was very nervous but it was incredibly well run and I spent almost the entire race with a smile on my face. I look forward to participating next year! My friend and girlfriend came to support me and were brilliant. My girlfriend was cheering and encouraging me everywhere she could. I'm sure you'd have heard her at some point haha. If you still have any spare medals I'd love to give her one as a thank you. Lucas

It's a great race, my 2nd time doing it. It definitely played a part in my decision to join club in the end. Marshall's all really friendly lots of cheering etc

Only downside was the pool felt more congested than last year, might have been be me but the 6:30-7:30 was tight, and I def switched 3 times with the same guy on consecutive lengths. Think that time bracket might need a bit more spacing, difficult to sort I know. Nice work on improving the weather as well. Reckon there was some cheeky drafting going on though. Will Marshall next year, still own a motorbike at present if you need Bike Marshall's! Robert

Originally from not so sunny Scotland I've done many tris over the past 6 years. I'm not speedy by any means and for me just finishing is what matters, for me the spirit of tri is what counts. You do not have to be an athlete, just do it.

Thoroughly enjoyed mid Sussex. Had time for a cycle course recce in the car and was amazed at the work you had gone to to mark road hazards. Great cycle route by the way. Have got used to more relaxed pool start in England. Scotland we used to have to set off on timed heats. Could get quite 'heated' in pool if estimated swim time wrong.

Marshalls were fab. Super support. Thanks so much to them all I know how hard it is to keep cheering on each person.  Fantastic to see the blind participants this year. Was honoured to see Alison Patrick a couple of years back in Scotland at one of the local races. Then 2 years later she did Para Olympics...wow.

Goody bag was fab by all standards. Especially as I got two water bottles and minty rub and club mates got one ;0)

Will be back next year and recommending to all. Liz

Steve you are a star xx Jennie

I've just received your post-race email, which along with all the other communications on this event is excellent, amazing and inspiring. First time I've done your race, although it was my wife's second, and certainly won't be either of our last! We did it this year with a bunch of guys who are collectively 'We Tri Hassocks' cajoled and encouraged by your very own Helen and Dr.Jim (great guys!).

Just a quick note from me in return to thank you enormously for what I know from personal experience of being involved in organising events like this is no mean feat.  So thank you!! …for delivering an event that you're not at all biased in describing as the most friendly and helpful one around - I'd also add that it's the most fun too, well when the inevitable pain of running stops!

The inclusion of the visually impaired guys is truly awesome and inspiring, over used words in some contexts but entirely appropriate here. I was fortunate and privileged to sit and have a long chat on the poolside with the visually impaired guy between his two goes at the swim - what an inspiration that he got back in and finished it off, amazing!

Finally my wife and I were talking after the event about what a great idea the Aqua Bike is and it's certainly a proposal we'll be making for our own club event (Brighton Multisports at Falmer).

Very lastly a final thank you to you and all the people involved in putting this together (I know there's always a great team behind the amazing leader!), we absolutely left with huge smiles having had a fantastic morning - despite the fact we'd competed on a wee bit of a hangover and less than three hours sleep (but that was happily self-inflicted and another story!).

See you next year! Sean & Sarah

Many thanks for your message.  I really enjoyed participating in my third Mid-Sussex Aquabike after missing last year.  It was a really well organised event on a great course, well marked for potholes, with very friendly and helpful Marshalls and an excellent Goody Bag including the free photos to download.  \It was nice to get a special Aquabike medal this year - my only trivial suggestion for next year would be to add the year to the engraving (or have the year on the neck band so you can re-use the medals in future years) and have a swimmer and a biker, rather than two bikers - but they are really only minor things, suggested as you did ask for feedback!

Thanks again and best wishes - hope to see you in 2018! Martin

RD -  I am with you there with the medals, the suppliers do not have such a thing yet, unless I take an angle grinder to the triathlon one and remove the runner….     I wanted to get some made but the minimum order was 100's and would last us 10-20 years so I hope to source something for next year. Yes disappointed that I missed the year off, I really dropped the ball on that one.

Thanks for your kind and prompt reply - my friends told me this was a friendly place to try out an event like this, and they were obviously right. Cherry

Have taken note of the info re Tri vs Aquabike possibilites, thank you,
What a fantastic race, thank you. Such a friendly atmosphere which was really enjoyable. It was my wife's first triathlon and she managed to grab third place so she was really happy. Matt

Thank you for another great race: well organised, friendly and inclusive. Can I just confirm the transition times are within swim and bike respectively? Peter
RD - Transition times are both in the bike. So from exiting the water to exiting T2 are regarded as bike time

Thank you so much for a great morning yesterday.  On behalf of numbers 36, 30 and 47, we loved it!  All you guys were so helpful, friendly and kind which adds to amazing sense of achievement that we all felt once we'd finished. Catherine

Fantastic race, brilliant atmosphere and organised so well.. Tina

First time I did the Mid-Sussex Tri and I really enjoyed it - will definitely do it again! Just to say thank you for your great organisation and a very friendly race indeed. Seeing how the visually impaired folks tackled this race was truly inspiring. David

I'm hoping someone gets to see this. I really wanted to email you and say that the Tri today was absolutely fantastic. It was so well organised and such great fun. All the marshalls were brilliant, so supportive and encouraging and the same goes to all the other competitors. I also wanted to say a huge thank you for the Spirit of Triathlon award. It was a real surprise and a great honour. I wish I stayed for the awards (especially now!!) but I had to get the little one home!!

As a member of the Tri Surrey committee if we are able to run an event half as good, I know we're doing something right. Definitely been one of my favourite ever events.
See you next year!  Leanne

Hi Steve Thank you. A great race as ever. Fastest time ever despite the rain (and being 15 years older). I guess what you see from the participants is just a reflection of what we see in you. Cheers Mark

The most friendly TRi I have been to. Had a real family / club atmosphere and run with good humour while always professional Would recommend anyone to enter Nick

Thank you Steve and the crew for another great Mid-Sussex Sprint Triathlon, my sixth in as many years. And my first wet race in 26 triathlons! But the weather did little to spoil the event. Matt

This is the second year I have done this event, and as last year, the whole thing was organised so well, and as a result was great fun. My thanks go to your whole team for all their encouragement and support on the day. At least we were getting hot and sweaty and the rain didn't really matter, but your troops had to look happy and smile whilst getting soaking wet. Many congratulations on another superb event, and I can't wait till next year. Regards Simon

Thanks Steve, it was a great race and I had an awesome day. Thanks for helping out with the number mix up! Really appreciated all the friendly and helpful marshals everywhere. Sorry I couldn't stay around for the prizes etc, I think Matt might have taken a bit of a dim view if he'd been left for much longer with two feral toddlers. Now I'd best start training up ready to beat my times for next year! Thanks so much, Rebecca

What a great race! I thoroughly enjoyed it, everything was brilliantly organised, everyone was so friendly and incredibly helpful. I can't wait for next year! Thank you so much :)

MASSIVE THANK YOU to Steve and his team for a fantastic event. Very well organised, every marshal and the team at the finish line was helpful and incredibly encouraging, and a great atmosphere throughout with a refreshing focus on sportsmanship, ending with a fun award presentation deffo worth sticking around for! Sarah

Hi Steve All the thanks should really go to you and your team. My first triathlon was great fun. I am now hooked and am looking for the next one! I will definitely be signing up again next year.

Hi Steve It was a brilliant event ..... My first Tri at 57!! Will definitely try and do it again next year Many thanks Jo

Thank you for a fantastic event, Steve. It's such a fun tri - and really well-managed. Thank you to all the fabulous marshals - it was great to have their encouragement - definitely one of the friendliest events in Sussex. Plus good goodie bags and fantastic photos and results on the day! Perfect way to spend a Sunday morning. Very happy to have got a PB this year - but missed going under 1 hour 30 by 7 seconds so I'll just have to do it again next year! Best wishes, Sally

Hi Steve, I just wanted to thank you (and your Marshalls!) for Sunday….despite the weather you have once again hosted a very friendly and welcoming event.

This is the 3rd time myself and 2 of my team mates from Burgess Hill RFC have taken part and we always find the atmosphere excellent. Adam

Blooming brilliant tri, thank you so much to all of you guys! Susan

Dear Steve, this was my first triathlon. It was wet. It was cold. I have never felt such warmth! Thank you so much for making it such an enjoyable experience! I hope to be back next year!  Best wishes, Ade

Hi Steve, I wanted to apologise for not being able to stay for the presentation yesterday. Apart from being disappointed for myself I appreciate it was rather rude after you'd put on such an excellent event, but unfortunately my lift back to London needed to get back quickly for other commitments. Regards, Jeremy

Hi guys Thanks for a great day as per usual, I know a lot of effort goes into the day and we thank you all. It gets better every weather (apart from the weather)  Thanks  Paul thanks to the maintenance man who sorted out my puncture at 23k.

Great event, well done to you and your team.  Already looking forward to next year. Dezza

Steve, Thanks for an excellently organised and friendly race yesterday.  The marshals were brilliant, although I am not sure if their merriment what at the sheer stupidity that was needed to go for a triathlon in that weather…..Michael

Just a quick note to thank you and all your marshalls for a great triathlon today. It was very well organised and all the marshalls very cheerful - even given the awful weather! Helen

Hi Steve and team Just wanted to say thanks for putting on such a great event. I had a lovely time although I think I missed the worst of the weather as I had an early start. I managed to get down to the Hove park WSFRL 5k just in time and ran a good time so I'm now thinking I didn't push hard enough on todays event. Anyway looking forward to next years event already. Thank you all Simon

I would just like to say what a fantastic day I had today, this was the best triathlon I have competed in, the marshals were all amazing, especially Clive, Emma, Amanda, and hazel, sorry can't remember any more names. everyone was extremely welcoming and very friendly, the organisation was very slick, and I've now joined the club as result, thank you Helen

Hi Steve, just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and the club members for taking us through the familiarisation day as you all given your time for free. It was very much appreciated.  Jetta

Hi Steve All the thanks should really go to you and your team. My first triathlon was great fun. I am now hooked and am looking for the next one! I will definitely be signing up again next year. Kind Regards Andy

Hi Steve Many thanks to you and all the volunteers, it was my first time to do your event and I really enjoyed it I hope to see you next year, and cut my time a bit Regards Matthew

Thank you and all the mid Sussex tri group for all the support given to me ,both on the practice day and on Sunday. What a great bunch of people you are. As a newbe I was worried I'd hold people up etc but the organisation was superb and encouragement fantastic. I met the target I set myself to do this as a retirement challenge a first tri at 65, not fast but not last. So thank you , I will definite continue and will return next year ,this time to improve all aspects. Jane

To all at Mid Sussex Tri club Thanks for such an awesome day, hope to make it the first of many.  Andrew

It was my first triathlon so hard to benchmark, but I had a really good time and will definitely do another and am considering joining the midsussex club. The marshals  were excellent and it was great to have the names on the numbers with people cheering on just when the boost was needed. Robert

Hi Steve, First of all, thanks so much for another great event. Rain or shine, it's always fun - even if this year saw me beaten hollow in the pool by my wife. Still, made up for it with a good bike.  It must be a real headache for you all those holes.  Pete

Thanks for organising a great race, I thought it was a marvellous atmosphere throughout. Could you pass my thanks on to the marshal who was patrolling between the farthest right had rows of bikes in the right hand tennis court? (tall chap) He was really motivational and helped so much with making the experience fun and memorable. I will definitely be signing up for next year! Thanks again Kathryn

Once again you've pulled off another amazing event with an opportunity to test fitness, skills (or not), chase PBs or simply enjoy a swim, a bike course suitable for every level - and a great run to finish off - with enough downhill to compensate for all the uphills (yes, I know, I know, but who hasn't biked or run a few courses that seem 90% uphill????)!! Wonderful marshalls at every single turn so almost (I say almost because I can get lost on a seafront!!) no risk of going off course, which for me at any rate takes so much stress out of the race! Thanks for the fun, the cheers, the smiles and hugely supportive athletes, too. Great events attract the best people and the 2016 Mid Sussex Tri was packed with the best. Loads of spot prizes were fun and gratefully received and who isn't inspired by prizegivings and hearing those incredible achievements that the majority of us can only dream about? A fantastic event! Would recommend (and will do) to ANY triathlete and/or wannabe triathlete. Many thanks, Amanda

Dear Steve & all the team, thanks for a superb race. Our 4th outing at Mid Sussex and we'll be back for next year again. It's by far our favourite sprint of the season, a great course and really friendly crowd. Hope to see you at more events this year. All the best, Richard & the Felbridge Tritons.

Excellent organisation and the most encouraging and supportive marshals ever....great hats too! Thanks for a great race. Gary

Hi Steve I just wanted to say a huge "thank you" to you and your team for a fantastic race today. The race briefing was the most entertaining I've ever heard (a lesson in how to hold a crowd's attention) and all of your marshals out on course and around transition were brilliant. Hopefully I managed to thank each on I saw, though doubtless I missed a few! I've no idea how you manage it but I'm sure it's a massive amount of effort all year round. I last did the race in 2005 and remembered loving it then. Ten years on ts still pretty much my favourite race and that's down to you and your team. You're a great advert for triathlon, keep it up! Very much hope to see you all again next year. Best wishes Paul

I would just like to write and thank you for putting on such a brilliant event.

What I enjoyed about the whole event was the fact that everyone was so friendly, all the people involved were very approachable and couldn't do enough for you.

My family even commented on this, after asking for the best place to watch and where the run course was, the marshals went out of their way to show them where to watch and even explained a little about the whole triathlon.

As I live in Haywards Heath and see you train there and also after seeing what a friendly bunch you are I am very interested in joining the club. Edward

Hi Mid Sussex Tri Club It has been a few weeks since your triathlon and I can't stop thinking about it! I did thank people at the time however wanted to follow up with an e mail. Your Triathlon was the first tri event I had ever done and it has encouraged me to enter more! The day was extremely well organised and everyone marshals and participants alike were very friendly and helpful.

In particular the lady marshal on the swim in/run out - she was absolutely fantastic - smiley, helpful, encouraging and friendly, she was a huge help to me. Also the bike transition gents, they took the time to find my name and cheer me along as I set off on the bike.

Thank you all so much for making my first triathlon a positive one. Regards Jennie

Thank you so much for organising an amazing event but I am biased too as this was my first! It is sure going to be hard to beat tho! That feeling of elation at completing the 3 disciplines together Was overwhelming and
When I arrived in the morning I almost backed out from nerves and nnausea but the minute I got into the water I got over them and enjoyed every second.
The marshals were all so friendly and encouraging and I loved the fact that all the athletes were out on the course at the same time. As a newbee there is always the chance that you could b out on the course alone but the swim start times ensured we were closer to finishing with the faster athletes and getting the encouragement from them.
Thank you for all your tips, and pointers in the lead up too. Your bike hints were invaluable to this rookie.
Hopefully see you soon. Samya xx

Firstly, I really liked this event, well organised and friendly.

Some specifics:

Signage on the bike/run route: Great! Big, clear, frequent signage that was unambiguous. The 5k/10k15k etc markers are especially good to have around on the bike ride as well as the 1k/2k etc markers on the run route

Marshals: Plentiful supply and dead friendly. None of them looking like they wished they were somewhere else

Transition: Big and easy to get around

Check in/registration etc: Easy

Free beer at the end: Really really liked this!

If you are looking for improvement: A loud hailer might have helped to herd the crowd prior to the swim kick off which seemed to be a bit random. Also for your briefing, a loud hailer might save your voice a bit!

First time for me at the BH event; defo in my diary for next year.

Paul

Hi Steve, thanks for organising a great event. It was my first triathlon. I am generally a runner and film a lot of my runs (filmmyrun.com). I wasn't planning to film any of the event on Sunday but my wife said she'd try and film a little. So, by no means my best work but here's what I got. https://youtu.be/fd6A1cvKTu8 If you want to use it anywhere do feel free. I note there are no other videos of the event online from what I can gather. Thanks again Stephen and Victoria

I thoroughly enjoyed the race, well swim time down a bit need to push it more, but many thanks to you and all the wonderful marshals who indeed made it one of the friendliest races I have done.

Thank you Graham

I'd like to pass on my massive thanks to Paul from your team who saved me from having to drop out of the race - I managed to forget my helmet and as I live in south London I didn't have time to go back .. Paul nipped home and grabbed me a lid and allowed me to get my course pb for the event!

As always a fantastically friendly and we'll run event. Please do pass on my thanks to Paul but also to the rest of the friendly and helpful team. You should be very proud. Cheers

Mark

Hi. Just a quick e mail to pass on my thanks to you and the team for a very well organised Tri on Sunday. It was a smoothly run operation with great support from all the marshals. It's a shame that the car drivers that thought it wise to block the entrance during the cycle leg, didn't have the same approach! It was my first time at this Tri but will look forward to next years event. Thanks again. Glen

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and your team of lovely volunteers for putting on such a great event.

It was my first triathlon so I was extremely nervous. I didn't need to be because everyone was so helpful and friendly!

I was also really touched to win one of your 'nice triathlete' (I guess I can sort of refer to myself as one now) prizes.

I do have one bone to pick with you though. I absolutely loved the event and I want to do more. So I now need to find a pile of cash so that I can buy a road bike!

Will definitely be back next year.

Regards Deborah

The competitors were a friendly bunch too, I could not have asked for a better or more welcoming and fun introduction to the world of triathlon and I will definitely be back for more. Chris

Steve. A quick note to congratulate you on a superb Triathlon yesterday. The event was extremely well organised, the course was excellent, and it always helps that the weather was pretty good as well. As a Mid Sussex first timer, I have to say that it was without doubt the best organised "local" event I have been to. All the volunteers also deserve a big thank you for committing their time and for being so encouraging on the course. Thanks to the photographer for their generosity. Love the pictures! A small bit of feedback - The bike rack was too low. I am 6'5" and my bike would not hang in the rack so I racked it against the fence of the tennis court. All in all a great morning out, and I shall look forward to next year. Thank you. Simon

Hi Steve, thank you for a BRILLIANT day. That was my first ever tri and I loved every minute of it and can't thank you and your team enough for all your effort to put it on. Great event, well done and thank you again. Chris

Really enjoyed today! When's next year's entry opening?

Thanks again for today! Jaime

Thank you for a super race! Lovely marshals and great organising. I'm looking forward to next year already :0) Lora

Hi all, Just wanted to say this is the first time I've done the Burgess Hill Tri and I loved it. Great organisation, loved the cycle and run route and a really friendly atmosphere.

Thanks all involved. Lee

What a fantastic race - thank you all so much.

Andrew (new PB)

Hi. I'd firstly like to say what great job was done by the MSTC team yesterday. Well organised yet a relaxed atmosphere at the same time. (Not easily done!) Also, it's great that you are having the foresight at introducing Aquabike to your event because there still aren't many around in this country yet. For competitors like myself it is ideal, because having enjoyed competing in triathlons for the last 12 years and now unable to run due to knee injuries I hope this can become more popular. I've got to say though it was rather disappointing that there were no trophies for the event. The actual prizes are not as important in my opinion. A trophy, no matter how small or insignificant is a recognition of an achievement and without that there seems very little reason to compete. Best regards Aaron

HI, Thanks for a great event yesterday- good routes and very well organised! Just wondered what is happening about the trophies for 1st fe/male Bikeathon. It said in the race instructions that there would be one and there have been every other year. I stayed there for 2 hours because the race instructions said that they wouldn't be posted despite it being my wedding anniversary and when I got home my husb was not a happy bunny! I assume they got left somewhere- I'm happy to come and collect mine as and when! Katie

Replied to both the Aquabike winners above:

I went through my trophy order last night and I would love to blame my supplier but I can't it my all my fault there were no trophies for you, I am truly gutted about it I just didn't order them, I don't know why as they were on my list. I am contacting our supplier today to see if they can express new trophies to me which I will send out to you ASAP I will let you both know when I get them.

I introduced Aquabike to our race for exactly the reasons you mention below and I try to champion it with every other race director I meet so we can have more.

Please accept my personal apology and an apology on behalf of my club

Steve Mac

Event Director

Hi Steve, thanks for a very well organised triathlon today. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and it had a nice, relaxed vibe. A couple of things: the swim experience wasn't pleasant - I've done it before but I feel the lanes are too narrow and people ignore your rules about only overtaking at the ends of lanes. I narrowly missed oncoming swimmers who were overtaking several times causing me to lose my rhythm and concentration. Secondly, the aqua bike finish was a bit of an anti-climax and, as there were runners running along the same stretch, a bit dangerous - I had one runner who nearly went into the back of me when I stopped at the finish line. Thanks for getting the triathlon results up online so quickly but can you tell me when the aqua bike results will be up? Many thanks again and please take my comments as constructive criticism rather than negatively.

Hi Steve, Thanks for another fab event. This is my first since 2012 - (injury then illness!). Anyway, one small prob. - no finish time for me. I guess someone missed my arrival at the finish line. My run time was 25.08 - could you put me in somewhere? Cheers. One more thing - I stopped to sort out a dropped chain for another competitor and then noticed that her front V-brake was unhooked so wasn't working. She had borrowed the bike and didn't know how to assemble it after taking it out of the car. I know that transition is busy busy and I guess that it was just missed. I help to organise the Brighton Multisports Tri so know how manic things can be, but I also know that feedback is useful. Anyway, thanks again for a great event and I now that our prizes (and your delivery) simply cannot compete! Pete

Hi Steve, I was only support crew at the race today, but I thought you did brilliantly. The whole thing was fantastically organised and all your Marshalls deserve a big pat on the back. The parking issues had nothing to do with the triathlon and everybody could see that you and your team were doing anything and everything to help sort it out, so please don't get disheartened by anybody who writes to complain, you all give up your time and chance to do your own event and LOTS of us appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of the weekend Anna

Can I just say well done and thank you for putting on a great event on Sunday. I have done the event several times before and it has always been well run but on this occasion I was completely struck by how friendly and good spirited the whole event was. Helped by the sunshine of course, I thought the briefing set the tone for the event as fun, relaxed and friendly and everyone including all the competitors just went with it . So well done and thanks for all your efforts to get so many give always. It made the prize giving fun for everyone. Moyra

Hi I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you and your club for a really enjoyable day on sun. The pre day was great giving me a chance to ask my hundreds of questions.  I arrived Sunday morning a bundle of nerves as this was my first ever one. Your enjoyable race brief settled them a little bit. Then a very kind fellow competitor who saw I was a new be walked in to the swim with me giving me some words  of encouragement.  While out on both the bike and run course the marshals were great. It really encouraged me when I heard them call my name. The other competitors were so friendly while out on the course shouting encouragement as they came past. The beer at the finish line was a fab idea and I enjoyed sitting in  the sunshine drinking it listening to the band. Overall an amazing experience and definitely one I hope to repeat next year. Mission now is to save up for a bike of my own.

Lorraine

Just a note to thank you and your team for putting on such an excellent event yesterday.

As a triathlon first-timer I was a wee bit apprehensive beforehand, but felt like I was in safe hands from the moment I arrived at the Leisure Centre. I spoke with a number of stewards at different times and every one of them was genuinely friendly, helpful, well-organised and not the least bit bossy or officious.

I was particularly grateful to the steward who offered me some unsolicited advice when I discovered that my legs had turned to jelly on dismounting the bike - "Take short strides for the first kilometre" - he turned out to be exactly right. Sure enough normal-ish motor control of my pins resumed at about the 1km mark.

Obviously events like yesterday's don't organise themselves, and you and your team must have done a great deal of hard work to make sure that every detail had been taken care of. You did a brilliant job - thank you very much indeed.

Tom

Hi Steve, Thanks for your email, we did stay around for the presentation and found the whole day really we'll run and everyone was really encouraging to us first timers. I have even managed to get three more friends to do it next year along with myself. Anyway I've got a 100 mile sportive to focus on in the mean time !!

Thanks again. Nathan

Dear Steve and Team, Just a few things: first of all, brilliant race on Sunday. Amazed to see people getting married and having their birthdays all celebrated by us lot! Top stuff. Very funny (yet professional) briefing and award ceremony too. Great marshalling throughout, great course, top event! Thank you. Eric

Would like to say thank you so much for the great organisation and support you gave me yesterday.

Thank you Ruth

Hi Steve This was my first Tri with you and won't be my last! I was extremely impressed with how well it was organised and how friendly you all were.

Regards Simon

Fantastic event will defo be coming back for more!  Thanks
Kind regards Leo

Hi Steve Thanks for a great race! And thanks to the marshall who recovered my bike show which flew off as i unclipped coming round the roundabout for T2!!! Cheers

This was the first tri I did last year and I loved it. This year i brought two newbies with me and they'll both be back to I reckon. Managed to knock 6.5 mins off last years time but ended up 10 places lower - so the quality of the field must have been better on average overall!

Anyway, thanks again Steve

Hi - just a quick note to say how brilliant Sunday was - superb organization, course was great, sun was shining. Perfect conditions. My only suggestion for next time: get some sports massage guys along. I really like a massage after a Tri (left calf muscles!) and was hoping you'd have something available.

See you next year, Jonathan

Hi Steve, Just wanted to say THANKS again for the lovely race on Sunday. Just what I needed. I've written a little race report. Hope you enjoy it:
https://cbertramtriathlon.wordpress.com/2014/06/11/mid-sussex-triathlon-a-hidden-gem/

Hope you have recovered somewhat. Best, Christine

Dear Steve Many thanks to you and your colleagues for all the hard work in arranging the Mid Sussex Triathlon, not only on the day but in all the build up as well, including the very useful familiarisation day.  I thoroughly enjoyed my first go at a triathlon, although it was only an Aquabike due to dodgy knees!  I competed with my son, Jonathan, who came second and we would love to have another go next year when I'll be 60 and, all being well, my other son will be able to join us after a long illness - he was chief supporter yesterday and my main training partner in pool and on the road!  The detailed results service, excellent online photos and everything were great - the cow bell in the goody bag will go with us to Kitzbuhl a week tomorrow when we go to support Jonathan in the age group European Sprint Triathlon!

You asked for feedback on positives and negatives.  The only slight negative for me was confusion over where the Aquabike was supposed to end.  The excellent online course maps indicate that the end was on the way back up the hill towards the Triangle, on the other side of the road to the school.  This was also what was said in the pre-race briefing, i.e. "go left at the roundabout opposite the triangle, down past the school, round the roundabout and then back up the hill to the Triangle" - once past the finish we could stop!  The "Aquabike Finish" sign was even set up on the Triangle side of the road, although the wrong way round!  However, the finish line on the day was in the same position but on the school side of the road - so there was no need for me to whizz down the hill and put in a "sprint" finish uphill!!  Only a minor point but, to be honest, I think the finish on the Triangle side would be much better as it would be easier to chat to the finish judges - who, when I finished, were on the opposite side of a busy road - and powering up the hill felt like a real race to the end, rather than a 10 metre whizz from the Triangle roundabout.

Once again, many thanks indeed to you and all the Marshalls and others for a really great morning for the whole family.

All best wishes, Martin

Hi Would like to register some feedback regarding Sundays Tri Swim was well organised and marshalled I thought the swim across lanes worked very well. The bike ride was scenic and marshalled to a very high standard Likewise the run.

Overall a superb event and I will definately do it again. My only criticism would be the goody bag I think a T shirt advertising the event and perhaps pointing Out that it was part of series would be good Publicity, free advertising and be practical ( you can never have Enough t shirts )

Regards Gary

Hi Steve,  I really did enjoy my first Tri yesterday at Mid Sussex.  I come from a running back ground. A fantastic event with brilliant support & friendly. I went wrong a couple of times on the bike. Luckily competitors & Marshall's called me back to let me know.   Not sure if possible may be to have distance markers on the bike course like the run course.? Might help with people going off course.

I will defiantly be back next year & will recommend friends to do it as a first Tri.

Thanks again Bernadette

Steve: I enjoyed the event. It was well organised and very friendly. I thought the tone of your briefing (welcoming novice entrants) was inspired.

I messed up the bike leg by getting lost (ignored your instruction not to turn if no marshall and turned up to Blackstone on a another events signage. Did a 33k loop in the end per my bike catseye. Stupid man!)

My next event is Chichester is July. The 1st one I did last year so hopefully wont get lost.

I would certainly come back next year.

Thankyou Regards Peter

Hi Steve and the team, I would just like to say thank you for putting on such a fantastic event.  It was my first triathlon and I've already signed up for my next!  The marshal's where so friendly and kept me in the right direction, the encouragement from the other competitors/participants really made it a fantastic experience, and well worth the trip from Newcastle to take part.

Thanks again for all your hard work, and look forward to next year.

Paul

Hi, Just wanted to drop an email to let you know that I really enjoyed the race, fab & friendly marshalls and a really inclusive prize giving presentation  - although I missed out this year I will be back to claim something next year!

It was my 1st ever tri and definately won't be my last (if only to beat my atrocious swim time - nerves definately got the better of me!). Obviously I got a little bit lost on the cycle route but as I wasn't 'competing' yesterday it didn't matter to me too much - and this will hopefully give me the advantage to reduce my cycle time by a fair bit for next year when I will be competing to improve my times

Thanks for all the hard work. Lisa

Hi Steve, enjoyed the event today enormously, particularly the good spirit, the weather and the loner bike even!

Kevin

Hi Steve, Thanks so much for making my first triathlon so enjoyable! To say I was nervous is an understatement but everyone was so friendly it made it a great morning.

Thanks again for all your hard work it is much appreciated.

See you next year! Genny

Thanks Steve, superb day, we really enjoyed it. Looking forward to next year.

Cheers Anthony

Thoroughly enjoyable second time for me - really well organised and again brilliantly friendly event. Thanks to all involved. I'll be back next year. Cheers. Mark

A big thankyou for putting on such a grate event. I realy enjoyed every minute, this was my first tri event and cant wait to book up my next.

Sharharry

Awesome race - thanks! Steve

Thanks for today. Such an amazing event. I can't believe how friendly everyone was.

Matt

Thank you so much Steve! I had such a wonderful and really enjoyed it. This was my first ever triathlon last year and I'm so happy that I knocked off 9 mins from last years time! I'm almost positive it was down to the volunteers cheering and general happiness! It was a brilliant brilliant event!!

Thank you so much, there aren't enough words to tell you how much I loved it!

Rest up! Aneesha :-)

Thanks steve I think I enjoyed it!!! Xxx
Jennie

Fantastic Steve, well done mate :)))

Gary

Hi Steve, We (from the Lanzarote crowd, Joan Palmer, Andy Palmer and Marion Coughlan) had an amazing day.  This is only our third triathlon and it was brilliant, you are a great guy and made the day extra special.  We most certainly will be back.

Thanks again

Joan

Dear Steve Wow! You did it again! A fantastic event, thank you. Hurst novices particularly loved it: you managed to allay fears, get people to laugh and loosen up, were generous Tour de France style in throwing out gifts (!) and managed to get lovely people to enter. You've been instrumental in encouraging the first-timers to now to enter more Triathlons  - and persuading those who were supporting to vow that they will enter next year! Job done!

Best wishes

Karen

Hi Steve, Thanks for a wonderful day yesterday and to all the marshals and helpers, we thoroughly enjoyed our first race and glad we survived.

Mike

Hi Steve, I would like to say again a huge thank you to yourself and your fantastic crew. The event year on year gets even more atmosphere and the cowbells got everyone going. I thank you for giving us this opportunity to race. Top day, Top freebies, Top crew.

Cheers Paul

Todays sprint tri in Burgess Hill was great fun . Unfortunately i went the wrong way on the bike course and added on 9.5 miles (about 29 mins). Hahaha , my fault really for not paying enough attention but i just saw a sign and followed it , before i knew, it was too late and i just carried on as i knew the way back to the Triangle.

Many thanks

Mark

Thanks for another good event, especially the marshals (and the accommodating guy on the A272 turn who drove me back to base, I'm awful with names!).

See you next year!

James

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who made the Mid Sussex Triathlon which took place last Sunday possible. It was the first triathlon that I have ever done and I had unfortunately been ill the whole week before. But as I was raising money for charity, I decided to give it a go even if I did it incredibly slowly. However, despite the wind, I found it a very positive experience due to the marshals and other competitors who were so encouraging the whole way round. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was thinking of doing a triathlon.

Anyway, I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to you all! And to let you know that I managed to raise over £800 in the process towards Kiya Survivors, a very worthwhile cause.

Naomi

Just want to email you and say thanks for an excellent event.

All your marshals were so helpful and gave great encouragement, plus it was so well organised you could not get lost.

Especially, i loved your enthusiasm at the awards ceremony, and wish all events could be like that.

Have downloaded photos which is a great added bonus, and will definitely do next year, though may have a go at the aquathon as would make a change competing in an event that you do not have to run.

Andrew

I have a few queries:
I'd like to swim a sub 5 min 400 but each year I'm hampered by swimmers in front. Is there any chance you'd let me go first? Or with a good +/>60sec gap at the back?

I'd like to do the Weald series next year. Could I join the club and still do this?

Finally, a problem shared by probably the final 30 cyclist on the course is the the is milling of competitors who've finished. Swerving around people with a bike on tired legs while they crack open the beer is quite demoralising. T1 isn't effected by such problems as competitors have to rack up before the race begins, which means the transition is for the most part cleared. I recognise some of the bigger events (ironman) have similar problems but as this is a sprint tri so it shouldn't be tpo much trouble asking finisher to wait until the final cyclist has cleared t2. Do you think this is possible? Alternatively, add a not in the race etiquette about such stuff if it's already there then may be it just needs another polite mention at the race briefing.

I hope my feedback is useful. As suggested you all deserve medals for the effort and commitment put into the event, both pre-race, during and post.

I look forward to next year, when I hope to get a sub 5min swim!!

Simon

Some great ideas thanks and you are right about T2 as one of the downfalls is that I never race it so don't know what it is like from that point of view and it would really pi55 me off if someone got in the way in T2 especially as you are screaming through, unfortunately with the amount of novices we have they don't recognise it and no matter how much shouting my marshals do you still get some distracted athletes.

The solution is as you say keep it closed, I may use you as a benchmark as you are always last to go off so I think an hour after that so open it about 09:45 - 10:00 with stricter controls when a cyclist is incoming.

re the delayed swim have a word with the girl who sets you off, we always have a 20 min buffer for the pool in case we run over so you can just ask her and it won't be a problem, I will put a mention in the notes for next year,

thanks for the feedback it is very useful and will be acted on

MSTC Response

Thanks for the response. I imagine there is a balance between a novice and a more competitive event and the trade-off is a few additional course obstacles. It would be great if T2 were less crowded but perfectly happy to swerve or scream, which I admit I did do as I ran up to my racking point and found someone standing over my kit and preventing me from racking, it was quickly resolved and the person possibly thought I could've been more patient but I don't mind.

Simon

Many thanks to you and your team of fabulous, friendly marshals and organisers for a really wonderful morning on Sunday. I had a wail of a time!

And just to say, many thanks to you for teaching me to put my chain on without getting off my bike at the route reccie. It popped off on Twineham Lane and I got it on without a hitch - I was very proud of myself!

Looking forward to next year!

Sally

Thank you for such an encouraging email ... I am going to book this week so I have a target in mind.

I have just done my 5th swim session and over the winter hope to squeeze at least one session in per week - I really enjoyed it but could hardly use my arms the next day!

I don't cycle at all at the moment and have a women's hybrid (bigger wheeled variety) with normal peddles that I just use to get to the park and back with my children in the summer!

I would really like to come over and practise the course nearer the time - sounds like a great idea and a great way to meet some more experienced triathletes to get some guidance.

It is a very daunting challenge but your advice has been great - thank you very much.

Emma

Thank you for all your time and support leading up to yesterday's event.

What a great event you and your team put on - I had a fabulous time!

Please would you pass on my thanks to everyone concerned - without exception every marshal/official was encouraging and kind. I was very nervous both at registration and before the event and there was always someone on hand to answer my questions or give me some advice. On all sections of the course the marshalls were effective and supportive, so I felt safe and the encouragement is such a boost when you are out there trying your best.

The tone was set right from the start during race briefing - we all knew what to do and wanted to work together so everyone could enjoy it.

A great venue - stress free parking and ample changing facilities (certainly beats trying to change in the car as I've had to do before at running events!).

All the competitors were really lovely too - great to hear the cheers as swimmer 1 jumped in and started their race.

I can't wait to compete again next year and I am so buoyed up by the experience that I am even considering getting a wetsuit so I can try longer distance events next year (any advice about where to buy a wetsuit?!).

Many thanks again.

Emma

Thank you for giving me a mention for my age group and I'm sorry that I had to get back for work so I could not be there at the end.
Thank you so much for a great event - again!- and I shall certainly be encouraging all Triathletes I know to enter it next year :-)
Best wishes

Karen

A big thanks for a great event. It was really well organised with friendly and helpful marshals all the way round. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back. Sophie my wife did herself proud in the aquabike.

Thanks again.

Andy

I was caught off guard with intense lower abdominal cramps after the swim but in honesty I don't think it helped that I didn't  warm up enough before the swim so let that be a lesson for myself and others in the future!

However both the marshals and ambulance staff put me at ease and within 10 mins the cramps eased and I felt I could continue. I was so close to packing in it and going home but I just thought no! Ive got to at least try to finish. It a great event and was so well organised yet again.

I didn't catch their names but I am so very grateful to the marshals who not only checked if I was ok after the swim, but continued to check on me during the rest of the race, you just don't get that level of attention in all races that's for sure

Natasha

thanks for organising such a good event for us - the atmosphere was just right with good banter and a 'fun' feel.
The only thing from our side was that the swimmers were set off a little too close together which did lead to quite a congested swim at times.
Dan

Massive thanks for an amazing event.  Loved every minute of it, from the pre-race briefing to the beer at the finish line!
Thanks once again,

Steve

Loved the race today - brilliant organisation, friendly and helpful marshals and a great course! Will definitely be back next year!
Kind regards

Sarah.

Hi Steve Well done to you and your team for a fun morning of racing. We loved the buzz and the atmosphere as normal. My cousin Deborah came down from Kent along with a few friends on my recommendation and they all loved the day. My wife Claire who took part in her 1st sprint and enjoyed it all. Well done and see you in 2014.
Regards

Paul

Generally, a very good triathlon. It was my first complete triathlon and I thought it went very well, and that's down to the superb team of marshals. Perhaps I may offer a suggestion in regards to the lay out of the swim section, due to the build up caused by slower swimmers. Firstly, it would definitely help if the starting marshal ensures that a gap of 15 seconds is maintained throughout, as in most cases the gap was closer to 7 seconds and this led to an early catch up to the swimmer in front (due to the faster swimmers starting after the slower swimmers). Another point of suggestion is that perhaps there could be a way to start the faster swimmers first? I was towards the end of the second wave (SJB), and for the whole second half of the swim I was stuck in a big build up. (Although I do understand this would lead to complications and potentially a delay of the whole event.. which is why I assume this is the current layout?) - there were 16 of us going in a single direction in the same lane... which obviously added on a lot of valuable time!!! However, a MASSIVE thanks for all the effort put in, it was very evident, and as I said, it was well marshaled all of whom were very friendly! A massive thanks!

Josh

Just wanted to say what a great event today was. Good routes, great organisation, great atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it ( well perhaps not all the way to end of the run!)
Many thanks

Tim

Well done to all concerned for today's event. The marshals were brilliant, very helpful and friendly, registration was painless, and the whole event had a fantastic atmosphere. Thank you.

Jean

Thanks so much for dealing with this and refunding me; I really appreciate it.
Cheers,

Patrick

Overall this was a superb event with the friendly and enthusiastic club shining throughout.
BTF Referee

Overall this was an excellent event, particularly for new-comers. A wonderful club atmosphere existed that was a great advertisement for our sport. Hearty congratulations are due to the organiser, all his team and the club.
BTF Referee

Hi crew Just a quick note to you all for a great triathlon it was my first of many, you have a good team and I thank you for all your hard work.
Paul

Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls at this mornings triathlon. My husband David and I loved it.We think it is the friendliest triathlon We have been to.
Jennie

What a great race today, we had a an absolute blinder and enjoyed the route, support and everything else. I don't think between Caitlin and I we can think of anything that would improve the race. A couple of bumpy roads but that is to be expected in Southern England.
Jake

Thanks for running such a friendly and well organised event today. The marshals were so encouraging and friendly, going out of their way to check race numbers and give some personal words of encouragement! I'll definitely be signing up for next year...I've got to improve in my fairly dismal bike time! Thanks again to all who helped out today.
Fiona

hello guys, I Just wanted to congratulate you on an exceptionally well organised event again today, that just seems to get better and better each year. This is my 3rd year of doing this event, and definitely one of my favourites. Two of my club members entering for the first time also agreed to, and want to do again next year. The generosity in prizes for all entrants just topped it off this year as the best year ever. Well done to all! The change in swim direction however was a surprise though, but I understand that this was a health and safety reason due to the ropes / red markers
Dave

Just a quickie to say thanks to all involved for such a good event.
As you know, it was my first ever triathlon, and I didn't set any records  but enjoyed the whole thing and the support your marshalls offered.
I didn't come last though... and maybe next time I can move up a page on the results!!
Paul

To Steve and all at MSTC. I took part in the event this morning and would like to pass on my thanks to all of you who pulled off a great race, very slick organisation and super-cheery/encouraging marshals ( many of whom I know from being part of the club some years ago). My swim time needed to be amended (due to a shoulder injury from moshing!...and a little less training than may have been prudent) and it made such good sense to be able to to adjust my swim position with no fuss. I had thought yesterday when I registered that it would save some queueing to be marked up at the same time but I appreciate the thorough security before being allowed into transition and the marshals whipped through the queue this morning in no time. If you ask around the club, you will hear time and again that I struggled and cursed through many triathlons between 2000 and 2002 but I actually enjoyed it today! Already looking forward to next year. Thank you again.
Fi Pugh.

Thank you to everyone involved in today's race, another successful event with great support from the marshals, which is much appreciated. I didn't look in the goody bag until I got home, but love the mug and medal with the Jubilee theme. 10/10 for originality! See you again in 2013.
Karen

The triathlon today was fantastic! Only my second ever but definitely the best! Well organised. Brilliant marshalls - helpful and so supportive. I liked the way the swim was organised. Bike route not too scary and run was great for me - a new PB for 5k and a new PB for the triathlon. Beautiful medal and the best goody bag I've ever had at any event! I can see I'm going to end up doing another triathlon. Thanks to everyone at MSTC.
Helen

Just a note to say thanks very much to you and your team of great marshals and volunteers at yesterday's Mid Sussex Tri. As well as their ability to point people in the right direction, and keep things running smoothly, I was especially impressed with those positioned on the run that were able to specifically find out our names as we approached them and went past and shout encouragement. A relatively small touch, but meant a lot and keep me going that extra little bit!

I presume it was yourself that spoke at the race briefing about feedback, and, for the record, I would certainly recommend the event to others and hope to return next year. I can't really think of any improvements that could be made, especially as I would imagine that putting something like that together is no mean feat in the slightest!

well done again to you all, and thanks for the Goodie bag too.
John

Good morning Steve A big thanks to all of the organisers and helpers who made yesterdays event such a success. It was my first Triathlon and although I wasn't exactly fast I loved every minute of it. Having lost 4 stone in the last year after not exercising since I left school (30 years ago) - I can tell you it felt fantastic crossing that line and the encouragement all the way around was a real boost. Bring on the next one!!!!!
Kevin

I took part in yesterday's triathlon, and wanted very much to thank all of those involved for taking the fear away, and making it such a tremendously enjoyable experience. I am surprised that we needed to be told to be polite to the marshals, as they were, without exception, so benevolent, patient with questions, and encouraging. It shocks me that, to warrant such caution, past competitors must have been rude to them. As a classical musician I am very new to sport, and am only now beginning to see the appeal! The camaraderie during the cycle, when the (vast numbers of) cyclists overtook me and cheered me on was hugely encouraging. Whilst I am used to stage performances, this was a whole new and wonderful thrill. I am so grateful to you all who gave of your time and organised it so immaculately.
Siobhain

What a wonderful day!  I didn't know it was actually possible to ENJOY a triathlon!  Even the run bit!  OK, maybe I didn't enjoy absolutely all of the run

Thanks so much for all your words of encouragement, advice and support.  And thanks to everyone else who helped out - including Kay for the hug and support, and all the other marshalls for being so lovely and voting me the fourth best smiler in the competition.  I don't think I've ever won anything at a 'sports day' before!
Issa

Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls at this mornings triathlon. My husband David and I loved it.We think it is the friendliest triathlon We have been to.
Jennie

Just thought drop you a line, thought the event yesterday was really well organised and the marshals were all very cheerful and helpful, this was my first tri, and i'm sure it'll be an event that i'll do again. There was a great atmosphere on the day and a good sense of camaraderie between competitors. Thanks for a great day - be great to see chip timing next year!
David

Just to say thank you for a great event on Sunday. Hurst loved it! Fab family day and I hope to recruit more for next year. All credit to your organisation, the really helpful Marshalls and the general spirit of the day.
Thank you for the 'Spirit of Tri' prize awarded to Tim Leeper - it really made his first Tri special :-)
Karen

Tom

Thank you and your team sooo much for Sunday. I had a great day thanks to your lovely marshalls, the fact it did not rain, rock tape and beating my last years time by a good 8 minutes! Oh and it may have been more than 8 mins if my 3 year old had not insisted in running the last 200m with me!! Seriously it was a fab day, thank you, Becky ;0)

Hi... Thought Id drop a bit of feedback in on the Traithlon. What a great event. Was only my second triathlon and I was really impressed with every aspect of the day. Registration easy, transition area very secure, marshalling excellent, organisation overall was spot on. I am a member of Portsmouth Triathletes and I have had really good comments on the finishers medal and the mug... really nice touches. Thanks again and I look forward to another event soon. Please congratulate all of your team as they have done a super job.
Shawn

Hi, Just thought I would thank you for organising such a good race. It was my first triathlon and although I was knackard after it was well worth it and it took a good few days for me to stop grinning. I think I may have court the tri bug :0) Thanks again and will see you next year for sure. Ivo

Thank you for organising such a fabulous event! It was my first ever tri, and I loved it! All the marshalls and event organisers were really friendly and helpful, and there was a great atmosphere. I've got 'The Bug' now... I'm looking for the next one to enter! Thank you! Laura

This was my 2nd tri and it was a really lovely day, even the weather could not spoil it for me. The course was beautiful and the marshals were fantastic and made the whole experience great. I have been to watch some Tri's run by other company's and the marshals were really rude so what a joy this was. I am still learning when it comes to the sport but know for sure that i will be back next year. Thank you all so much.   Lesley

FANTASTIC! great job! absolutely brilliant! all marshalls were encouraging, it was an easily followed course i had advise and encouragement from marshalls along the way & at transitions Thank you And i raised £720 for First touch charity so a double bonus :-) Jody

Thank-you once again MST, my 4th (i think) time at your event and I can only say I love this race. Nice crowd, easy registration, well marshalled, good course, excellent goody bag - 5* all day long! Downside - transition a bit hit and miss but hey you're doing a great job. See you in 2012.   Martin
